My home town of Lewes in East Sussex is a wonderful creative community. As Christmas is fast approaching I wanted to showcase some of my favourite independent retailers. They all have fabulous online stores and some have bricks-and-mortar shops too selling their beautiful products.

Nancy Meiland Parfums
Inspired by a summer spent in Skagen, Denmark, where she was captivated by a magical place where two seas meet. Drawing on the flora and fauna on the beaches and dunes around her to form the base notes of her new fragrance, Églantier, she collected flowering sage, rosehip and the sandalwood which evokes the driftwood washed ashore at low tide. Opening the fragrance with the seed of crushed ambrette to give a salty note, the rosehip adds a floral accent, with sensual tuberose at the heart. As with all of Meiland’s scents, there is an enigmatic depth which makes them wearable by women and men alike.
