I’m ready! Well almost. It has been a busy couple of weeks making my studio into a space for people to visit. Galleries can be intimidating sometimes so I hope this will feel more real and intimate. Painting for me is a very private process and when I work I am in a total bubble, so it does make me a bit nervous to open my doors, but also excited to show my brand new works, earlier pieces and paintings that I am still working on. I hope it will be interesting to see the process of how I work. My paintings change so much over a year, building up the layers, and in the final work you may only be able to see five or ten percent of the original layer. So for those who return to my open studio next year they will see how the works have been transformed.
This is also the first time I have taken part in the Brighton and Hove Artists Open Houses Festival and I am so thrilled to be part of it. I am on the Newhaven and Ouse Trail and as this year I will only be opening my studio for one weekend I have two weekends in May where I can explore the festival. I can’t wait to visit other creative spaces in our community.
Summer is on the way and by the weekend temperatures will be touching the mid twenties. With lots of help I have created a lovely outside space with wild flowers, a pond and deck to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine and soak up the peaceful views of the beautiful East Sussex countryside.
All my latest creations and all my works that are currently available to purchase are on my online store with prices. Original works start from £250 and there are some very special prices only available over the weekend on larger works too. Postcard packs from £5 but please please do feel free to just come along and meet me!
