2. Pantone Colour of The Year 2016 {Rose Quartz + Serenity}

A warm pink tone and a cooler, peaceful blue. A beautiful gentle combination that will add a sense of tranquility to any room. I love the idea of adding as little or as much of the tones as you like to your home.

7. Digital-Free Living Room

Houzz predict 25 design trends that will gain stream in 2016. A tech free room is the one I’m most excited about and will be embracing this year. To have one room in the house unplugged to encourage family time is very appealing!

8. Layering of metallics

Jo Hamilton, Interior Designer loves the rising trend of layering metallics. A mix of soft, warm toned metals – pale gold, rose gold and copper – creates the most glorious, uncontrived elegance and gives an exciting edge to pretty much any scheme.

9. Stand Alone Furniture

Interior Designer Shaynna Blaze enjoys pared-down design, ‘rather than a lot of furniture in a space each piece will be a stand alone statement.’ Like this handcrafted bespoke dining table from burlanes interiors made with tulip wood.

  • Great post Jessica- and some lovely inspiring images to get us in the mood for the new year. There is a real nature inspired slant to your selection. I’m moving to the countryside this year, so have have loads of design inspiration for our new project! Although knowing me it’ll have a few more opos of colour!
