By August 7, 2014October 30th, 2017Blog, Guest Blogs

I am a huge fan of the Artsy Forager and I’m delighted that she accepted my invitation to write a piece for my blog. I absolutely love this and I hope you do too! xx Read a previous feature on my work here

Hello to Jessica’s fans and readers!  Being a lover of Jessica’s work, which I’ve featured on my art blog, Artsy Forager , I’m thrilled to be popping over to share here on her own blog!

Some of my favourite artists are those who, like Jessica, see the natural world through abstract eyes.  While we can all appreciate the beauty to be found in nature, it can take a special artistic eye to not just see it, but to read and interpret its unique characteristics.  My husband and I are nature lovers, never missing the chance to hike or backpack and while we love covering ground, we also take tremendous joy in observing the world unfolding around us.  The Artsy Nature  is a series on Artsy Forager in which I pair up one of my own nature photographs with a work of art in which I find common ground.

So I thought it might be fun to pull together some of Jessica’s work to which I saw a visual connection to our own forays into the wild.  Although we live on different continents, the splendour of nature speaks the same language.

Beauty follows beauty, doesn’t it?  Any time I find myself in one of these incredible places, I wish I had a brush in my hand and could paint as gorgeously as an artist like Jessica!

Thanks to Jessica for inviting me to share, hope you guys enjoyed my visit as much as I did.
