London Design Week at the Design Centre Chelsea harbour launches this Sunday.
10 – 14 March
Creative talents at the forefront of global interiors come together for a thrilling exchange of ideas and collection launches. This dynamic event is the perfect mix of style, imagination and directional design. Inspiring as it is influential, it promises to shape the way we live today.
As much as I’d love to be at all the inspiring events scheduled it will be impossible. I will need to cherry pick so here is my ‘must see’ list….so far
SUNDAY – Press and trade only
10am–6pm: ‘Meet the Designers’ with Mark Butcher & Alex McKenzie of Mark Alexander at Romo
MONDAY – Press and trade only
10.30am–12.30pm: ‘Meet the Designer – A Discussion with Sheila Coombes’ at Brian Yates
I love her collection of wallcoverings and fabrics particularly Ephemeral Blossom and Parasol Garden
2pm ‘From Canvas to Cloth – A Discussion’ with me Jessica Zoob and Emily Mould at Romo
I will reveal the inspirations for the artworks and reflect on the challenges behind this adventurous project! Well possibly! Who knows what I might say?
TUESDAY – All Welcome
10am–1pm: ‘Meet the Designer’ with Claire Vallis at Harlequin
I hope Claire talks about the inspiration behind their eclectic Jardin Bohème collection.
WEDNESDAY – All Welcome
2.30pm: Meet the Author – Nina Campbell signs copies of Nina Campbell Interiors
I adore Nina’s style
Nina Campbell Interiors focuses on introducing all-important details into the home, whether in the form of texture, colour, lighting, art, flowers or other finishing touches. The book features the private homes of Nina’s clients, ranging from a city pied-a-terre to a large family home, from a chic apartment to a country bolt-hole, all designed and decorated to suit a range of lifestyles, but all reflecting Nina’s infallible eye for detail.
THURSDAY – All Welcome
3.30pm–4.30pm: Conversations in Design hosted by Tatler
Daniel Hopwood, interior designer, president-elect of the BIID and Judge on BBC 2’s ‘The Great Interior Design Challenge’, talks to retail editor Karen Deeks on how to achieve the home of your dreams.
FRIDAY
11.30am–12.30pm: Conversations in Design hosted by Country Living ‘Beyond the Kitchen’
Emma Bridgewater talks to editor Susy Smith about her unique approach to design, business and how she has established an authentic British look that is adored across the globe.
