Artwave is Lewes District’s Annual Festival of Artists and Makers.
It will be the 23rd year for the festival and the 10th and final year that I will be part of this wonderful annual event.
In previous years I have always open and showed my artworks from my Lewes home which I have loved. However, I am now painting such huge canvases that I need a much bigger space for people to see my creations. After the fabulous weekend of May Open Studio from my actual work space in the Sussex countryside just outside Lewes I will be doing the same again for Artwave Festival.
The festival starts August 20th for three weekends. I will only be opening my studio the final weekend of the festival, September 3rd and 4th.
I am number 10 on the North Trail, one of the three trails featured in the Rural Trail
There are 123 different venues to visit at this year’s Artwave Festival and almost 400 artists taking part so download the brochure or pick one up from the Lewes Tourist Office and plan your visit. Here are a few venues I’m hoping to visit close to my studio on the North Trail:
There is also an opportunity to vote for your Artwave Favourites 2016! This is sponsored by Viva Lewes, the Chair of Lewes District Council and Lewes District Business Awards. You can cast your vote, either on the website(coming soon) or by completing the tear off slip in the brochure on page 30.
The Artwave Festival really is a great day out to view art, meet artists and discover intriguing and unusual venues. I can’t wait!
I am currently in a painting frenzy in my studio working on a brand new collection. For a sneak preview of these ‘works in progress’ before I open my studio next month visit my ‘In My Studio’ Pinterest board
