I feel very honoured to have been invited by British Artist Jessica Zoob to write a little piece for her blog. It is also really humbling to know that she loves my LucyLovesYa because I am a fan of her work – my particular favourite being the Passion Collection. The colours are just stunning. I have complete admiration for artists like Jessica because she is using her gift and lighting up peoples homes with her paintings.
Jessica has offered me the opportunity to let her readers i.e. you, know about my blog and what I like to talk about. so, here goes…
Inspiration is Everything is my motto – because I really feel that it is. So much around us has been designed in some form – and that person found the inspiration from somewhere, something or somebody.
A friend once said to me “Don’t be intimidated by a talented person – be inspired them”. So very true and it changed the way that I looked at life.
LucyLovesYa has been up and running for nearly 3 years now and what started as a vintage and kitsch inspired sewing blog to meet like minded people and show off my designs, has evolved into a blog where I review interesting products, work with unique brands and interview high profile designers, artist and musicians. This is as well as still coming up with my own designs and dressmaking.
Colour is really important to me so you will find lots of vibrant posts!
It has opened up a whole new world for me having met lots of interesting and lovely people through social media. Blogging is a great platform for anyone wanting to interact with like minded people or to see where it takes them career wise.
Next in the pipeline is an online shop and I am also working on a new brand – all this started out from a little blog post about a couple of dresses that I had made over a weekend !
