Inspiring Sussex Gardens

By June 13, 2013January 18th, 2018Blog, Inspiration

I am incredibly fortunate to live in a beautiful part of England.

Sussex is a truly stunning county and at it’s heart are the South Downs, designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Beauty’

As a Contemporary Impressionist I am constantly inspired to paint by my surroundings.

Here are some of my favourite places to visit:

Wakehurst Place–  The National Trust garden for all seasons managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.

Recently I was completely inspired by a  fantastic tour of Farley Farm where the truly talented Lee Miller used to live. I absolutely loved it!!  Utterly Magical!!farley farm Collage

Sheffield Park one of the National Trust’s flagship gardens

Sheffield Park inspired the ‘water lily’ paintings in my Passion collection

I have yet to pay the Driftwood Open Garden in Seaford a visit but it is top of my list. From these photos I’m sure you can see why!
