I was recently invited by Ina of Folklorique to contribute to her World Heritage in Fashion Pinboard. Ina has a lovely website, blog and online store so do check it out
Ina is fascinated by how different traditions and ethnic cultures can influence fashion. I agree and love how fashion designers can capture world heritage using colour and cloth to create stunningly exotic pieces for their collections. I have always been incredibly interested in costume and I find this cross cultural exploration really inspiring, I hope you do too.
Here are a few of my favourite finds:
Christian Lacroix//Galliano//Jean Paul Gaultier//Kenzo
This pinning journey naturally lead me to collecting images of fashion I love and found really beautiful. I don’t usually spend much time thinking about clothes as I am generally in paint covered overalls but this has really inspired me so perhaps I may get a bit more adventurous in the future! With exhibition launches and Christmas round the corner I may well have my moment!
Fernanda Yamamoto//Jeremy Laing//Nicholas K// Antonio Marras
More can be found on my ‘Fashion Pinboard’
Which is your favourite?
