After a busy month with the Artwave Open House Festival it has been lovely this week to just relax and enjoy this fabulous Indian summer! My studio is currently being transformed into a much bigger space and it isn’t practical for me to be there at the moment. I am really missing painting but long walks, beach barbeques and family time is certainly not a poor substitute.
It’s during these ‘down times’ I find art inspiration for my work and having time to check in on my favourite blogs and social media accounts has been hugely inspiring.
Today I am sharing some of the lovely things I have discovered:
Inspiring Blogs:
Hip & Healthy – If You Only Do One Thing This Week… Eat Yourself Fit!
This is a great online wellbeing magazine packed full of tips for a healthy lifestyle. Keeping fit and eating well is so important. I need to be strong, fit and healthy so when my studio is completed I’ll be ready for action!
Decorator’s Notebook –
This blog is a recent discovery. I love their styling tips and online store selling beautiful homewares
Inspiring Facebook Posts:
How wonderful to discover on Facebook that my living room had been included in Country Homes & Interiors Magazine’s 10 of the best country storage ideas!
Trunk table
Instead of a coffee table in the living room, invest in a vintage wooden trunk with plenty of room inside to stash magazines, throws and more. Paint floorboards for a casual look, and soften daybed seating with beautiful Jessica Zoob Desire Romo cushions.
The Decorative Living Fair This is a ‘must go’ event. I went to their spring fair in Eridge Park and it was full of wonderful dealers selling a wide variety of antique, vintage and decorative contemporary goods. Read my blogpost about it here. Happening next Thursday so do try and go along if you can.
Inspiring Pinterest
Pinterest is a constant source of inspiration for me, I have so many boards now so do have a look if you need some inspiration or just love discovering lovely things!
Framed Flowers by Anne Ten Donkelaar
Bottle with Roses by Chris Taylor Ceramics
Inspiring Instagram
I am addicted to Instagram!! I love how it makes all the quirky little forgotten corners so pretty! I follow some wonderfully inspiring IG accounts that constantly amaze me with their innovative ways of making the ordinary so very special.
