After my crazy summer of six shows in six weeks I have finally had a bit of quiet time.
One of my favourite new ways to relax is Pinterest. It’s such an amazing source of inspiration and creativity. A place to discover all sorts of wonderful things. I love it!
Before I know it I’ve spent hours scanning beautiful images of food, textiles, nature, interiors and art, being sent off on all sorts of tangents on my journey of discovery.
I would like to introduce you to some wonderful artists that I have come across recently on Pinterest:
Mister Finch
A talented textile artist who makes fairytale creatures from all the things he find on his travels. I absolutely love his work!
Kari von Wening
A metal sculptor who uses intaglio printmaking and zinc plates riveted together to form extraordinary sculptural objects. She also uses scrap metal that enables more options with surface texture, colour, and form. So beautiful!
Anne Ten Donkelaar
A damaged butterfly, a broken twig, a bumblebee, some strangely grown weeds: Anne finds all these unique discoveries then gives them a second life. Definitely on my wish list!
Sarah Walton
Embroidered illustrations using a sewing machine, these are expressive graphic pieces using the imperfect nature of the thread. They are combined with fabrics and colours then scanned to create a finished piece. Completely adorable!
Lyndie Dourthe
French textile designer. Her unique work has a bit of botany, a little voodoo, a sprinkle of anatomy and a touch of superstition. Utterly exquisite!
I have put together an ‘Exciting Art’ pinboard that I can’t wait to keep adding to
Why not have your own Pinterest adventure. You never know what you might discover! Be warned though it is completely addictive!
