Over the May bank holiday weekend I spent an inspiring long weekend exploring beautiful Pembrokeshire. People often ask me where to I find my inspiration and this is definitely one of those places!
I stayed at the fabulous Hammet House. If you are looking to stay somewhere truly special to relax, be completely spoilt and enjoy delicious food then I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.
Philippa and Owen are fantastic hosts and have stripped this gorgeous Georgian house to its beautiful bones, no swirly carpets to be seen! It is relaxing and pampering and their attention to every detail is flawless. The 7 acres of gardens are stunning and beautifully kept with ancient trees and a long driveway that runs alongside the river Teifi where we spent the first evening wondering along the river bank and listening to the many wild birds.
Pembrokeshire is blessed with fantastic natural beauty. Wooded valleys and rivers, dramatic and varied coastline with stunning bays, beaches and clifftops all combine to feed the soul and are of course for me endlessly inspiring!
My absolute highlight were the magical lily ponds at Stackpool As you know I am a huge fan of lilies and when we stumbled across them at dusk under the beautiful light they took my breath away. Simply stunning even this early in the season and not even in bloom!
Reminded me of one of my recent works Midnight Water 2 that was recently shown at the Loughran Gallery’s Sprung exhibition
