Flowers and Fine Art

By October 8, 2015October 30th, 2017Blog

I absolutely love flowers and the Zoob house is always full of beautiful blooms. The colours inspire my paintings and they always make me smile.  I love seeing how the colours of a vase of flowers seem to be captured and echoed in my paintings, perhaps because I use oil paints which are created from natural elements. They really make a room feel alive especially when the sun is shining through the windows.

Roses, peonies and lilies are my favourite flowers and the waterlily has become a recognisable motif in many of my favourite paintings including some of the latest works to be added to my Playtime Collection.

Today is National Poetry Day so I wanted to share a verse from one of my favourite Keats poems about autumn and flowers:

  • Dear Jessica
I have to reply to your wonderful blog post. I absolutely adore all of your work and yes your paintings really light up my life. Your style is so unique and enchanting. Every canvas unites a happy disposition within me , lifts my spirit and I smile at every brush stroke as the mood within each moves from calm to eye poppingingly soul cleansing absolute visual pleasure!
I am an Interior designer, and being a fan if yours (you may of guessed!) I am waiting for that day a client uses your beautiful work whether it be in fabrics, wallpaper or in art. I did ! very closely this time last year a client took on my design within the suggestions on the mood board, but sadly on this occasion the client took on the work themselves rather than me implementing the project so I never saw the finished design :(

Never mind it will happen I am sure one day.

I really would like to take my creativity in the direction of yours and encorporate it within my interior design. More so applied textiles as this is my passion , fabrics. The trouble is I have so many professions I d love to be involved in ! I would like to ask you how I could begin this journey of applying art and creating a style , and I would guess you would say pick up the form of media you want to explore and practice or attend a course?

    Thanks Jessica
